Wise Office – Wise Habit’s sustainable working space

The task of Koziej Architekci studio, which we invited to collaborate on the design of our office, was to reflect in the project the key values of Wise Habit: Design, Awareness and Sustainability. In the spirit of these tenets, our office was to be designed with sustainable materials, provide a creative and inspiring work environment, and utilize timeless and well-designed furnishings.

First, the architects assessed which elements of the raw interior could be left unfinished or needed minimal intervention. They dispensed with drywall and suspended ceilings, and kept the radiators. They left the concrete walls, which were only painted, and where they needed finishing a breathable clay plaster was used.

Second hand = first choice

We wanted our office to support the principle of Reuse. The architects undertook a selection of second-hand and unused materials from other projects. The contractors found steel plates in storage, which inspired an unusual juxtaposition of materials in the bathrooms. Instead of stoneware tiles, steel plates and tadelakt – a stone-polished, tactile clay plaster – were used. In turn, tubes, which were waste from carpeting, were used to build the wall of the storage room. Existing post-exhibition furniture and prototypes were woven into the design. Technical equipment is also sustainable – lighting with built-in sources to reduce energy consumption.

Adaptive space

Our vision for the office includes the ability to adapt the space to different needs. The starting point was comfort in terms of lighting and acoustics. This is why glass dilettos separating the quiet work space from the common area allow light to penetrate deep into the office. We did not forget about promoting good habits: we provided space for waste segregation and architects designed flexible solutions into the space, allowing for its wise and economical use. Such as the offices connected by a sliding wall, which can be used to organize a larger meeting and corresponds to the nature of Wise Habit teams, where the number of people changes and working groups are formed subordinated to various projects.

Library of Sustainable Materials

In the entrance space, a huge pull-out bookcase from the storage space was designed to house samples of environmentally-friendly materials. They are part of our Library of Sustainable Materials – the first in Poland and the third in Europe collection of regenerative and sustainable materials, which architects and designers use to create projects that support the well-being of people and the planet.

Wise co-work

We want our office space to be an inspiration and a great backdrop for creative activities. We are creating a place that meets all needs: teamwork, individual work and also provides relaxation in a beautiful setting. We also function as a co-working space and a venue for photoshoots, film sets, business meetings and events. We invite everyone for whom an original space is an important element of creative work: architects, filmmakers, fashion designers, designers and photographers.
