The Future of Sustainable Design - highlights from ARCHITECT@WORK Warsaw 2025
Our Sustainable Materials Library is hitting the road. We proudly presented our exhibition “The Sustainable Home - materials and solutions” during this year's edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Warsaw (May 28 - 29) - an international event for architects and interior designers, showcasing the most inspiring innovations in the industry.

Wise Habit: “The Sustainable Home - materials and solutions”
Our exhibition presents a vision of the future of architecture, one that embraces nature, empathy, and innovation. It showcases pioneering, eco-friendly, and locally sourced materials in the context of architecture and construction.
At the heart of the exhibition stood a model of an ecological house, displaying both structural and finishing layers made of materials selected from the Sustainable Materials Library - the first repository of regenerative, innovative, and sustainable materials in Poland, and the third of its kind in Europe, dedicated to the architecture of the future.
The exhibition took the form of a spatial map - a network of display stations featuring full-scale material samples, interconnected by natural pathways leading to the house model. It explored a wide variety of raw materials - from compressed organic components such as alpine hay, coffee, or wildflower petals, to repurposed bricks, demolition waste, and recycled fishing nets, and even bio-fabricated panels grown from mycelium, inspired by biomimicry. Some materials are rooted in millennia-old traditions, others are the result of cutting-edge technologies. All are united by their durability and safety - for both human health and the planet.
All design choices stem from respect for resources and local context. The materials showcased come from Poland and other parts of Europe. The house is elevated on stilts, avoiding interference with the soil to preserve the natural rhythm of the ecosystem. Its wooden construction references Slavic building traditions, using classic timber joinery methods that are also known in other cultures. The entire concept embodies a new vision of “glocality” - merging local heritage with universal potential.
This exhibition is a manifesto of architecture that does not destroy, but supports and coexists.
Let’s Build Responsibly
How do we design our spaces? Are we aware of the impact that materials have on our health, well-being, and environment?
At Wise Habit, we believe that change begins with awareness - and with design. Our Library offers knowledge, inspiration, and practical tools for creating a smarter, healthier world. Our mission is to make available a carefully curated collection of materials that support responsible design - taking into account factors such as raw material origin, lifecycle, biodegradability, recyclability, and potential applications.
The Sustainable Materials Library in Warsaw is both a physical and digital repository of regenerative, innovative, and sustainable materials for designing products, interiors, and architecture. The Library is open to all - we invite you to join us in building a better future together.
We understand how crucial the design phase is for the planet, which is why we support designers and architects in making informed, responsible choices. We provide them with the knowledge and tools that fuel creativity and promote the health of people and the well-being of the planet.
At “The Sustainable Home – materials and solutions” exhibition, we showcased a model of a modern, eco-friendly home, entirely designed using innovative materials from our Sustainable Materials Library.

Flexible Flooring
Made from 67% bio-based raw materials. Designed for high-traffic areas and large spaces. Suitable for curved surfaces and even as furniture veneer. Easily adaptable to the needs of any project.
Boards crafted from 100% Recycled Plastic
Each panel has a unique, unrepeatable pattern despite having the same composition. They are fully recyclable and made from a single material blend. Some compositions even include non-recyclable waste, such as ocean fishing nets or PP ropes.
Vapor-Permeable Thermal Insulation
Helps save energy by retaining heat indoors during winter while maintaining a healthy indoor microclimate. Its high thermal mass also protects against heat in summer, keeping interiors comfortably cool. Made from natural raw materials, it helps regulate indoor humidity.
Clay Plasters
Made from 100% natural, non-toxic ingredients with no VOC emissions. Ethically produced in a local workshop in Suwałki region. Ideal for moisture regulation in interiors. Clay plasters accumulate heat on colder days and help maintain lower indoor temperatures in summer.
Hypoallergenic Decorative Surfaces
Made from organic materials such as alpine hay, wildflower petals, coffee, or lavender. Gently pressed onto a base and bound with eco-friendly adhesives, they are transformed into ready-to-use panels, wallpapers, or tiles. Free from synthetic scents and dyes, they naturally retain the fragrance of their original components.
Hemp Fiber Panels
A fully bio-based material made from the woody core of industrial hemp stalks - bonded with plant-based adhesive. A safe, sustainable alternative to traditional wood-based boards that contain formaldehyde.
Hempcrete
A non-load-bearing thermal insulation material used for internal and external walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs. Fully vapor-permeable, it regulates indoor humidity and supports a healthy microclimate. Its high porosity also makes it an excellent acoustic insulator. Completely biodegradable, compliant with circular economy principles, and acts as a CO₂ sink.
Meet Us at the Next ARCHITECT@WORK Events
ARCHITECT@WORK Warsaw is just the beginning of our exhibition journey. We’re proud to represent sustainable materials at upcoming ARCHITECT@WORK editions.
The theme “Circular Horizons - Designing the Architecture of Tomorrow Today” resonates strongly with our mission. In response, we’ve prepared our original exhibition “The Sustainable Home - materials and solutions” to showcase how environmentally friendly and locally sourced materials can help design and build in harmony with nature.
