About the product
Bananatex® strips are made from 100% Abaca Banana plants. No animal suffers in the process of their production. Thanks to the yarn made from plant fibers, the belt is durable and incredibly strong. An additional thin layer of black cork makes the belt very pleasant to wear.
Care instructions
Although our Bananatex® straps are waterproof and can withstand splashes of water or rain, but we do not recommend wearing the watch in the shower, while bathing or while swimming. Also note that they are not machine washable and contact with hot water should be avoided. To keep the straps in good condition, simply use cold water and clean them with a clean, damp cloth without any detergent. When it's time for a new belt, remember to recycle the metal parts and dispose of the old belts in the biodegradable waste garbage can. For hygienic reasons, we recommend replacing the strips every six months.
Sustainable production
Banana plants are grown in the Philippines, where they participate in the region's important reforestation process. By using these plants, the carbon footprint that is a byproduct of the material's production is minimized. The plants grow in their natural ecosystem, so that to grow them, no additional water or pesticides are needed. The stems of the plants used in production are cut once a year and regrow fully within 12 months.
