Wise to Wear You – Wise Habit and LG on the positive impact of fashion
At Wise Habit, we believe in fashion that not only looks good but also does good. On November 28, together with LG, our ESG partner, we hosted an event dedicated to the future of fashion – responsible, inclusive and high-quality.
Fashion with a purpose
The event aimed to shift the negative narrative around the fashion industry by exploring its potential for positive impact.
During the panel discussion, invited Guests – Ilona Majer and Rafał Michalak, founders of the MMC fashion brand, and Sylwia Antoszkiewicz, a style therapist and mentor – shared insights into the power of mindful clothing choices and responsible design practices. The discussion was moderated by Marcelina Plichta-Wabnik, CEO of Wise Habit.
A key partner for the event was LG, a brand that shares Wise Habit values: a responsible approach to design and production, coupled with a commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
LG implements eco-friendly solutions, including the use of recycled materials in an increasingly diverse range of products, supporting care for the planet and the well-being of people.
Quality over overproduction
The panelists agreed that responsible fashion starts with good design, good materials and good craftsmanship. For fashion brands, this means focusing on local production and limited collections, resulting in high-quality, thoughtfully crafted pieces that serve as long-term investments for customers.
Rafał Michalak emphasized this from the perspective of MMC: “Customers appreciate quality – not just in the materials, but also in the design.” Ilona Majer shared a similar perspective: “I believe the future of fashion depends on brands like ours – responsible, producing less but creating unique and distinctive products. This approach resonates with conscious customers who share our vision.”
What does inclusive fashion mean?
The panel highlighted the growing importance of inclusive design amid societal and demographic changes. Future-proof fashion is one without boundaries, transcending gender and age.
The founders of MMC noted that their brand already creates unisex silhouettes and invites mature modeling icons, such as Bogna Sworowska, Robert Kupisz and Lidia Popiel to showcase their collections on the runway. Sylwia Antoszkiewicz shared her experiences working with the so-called silver generation (individuals aged 50+), proving that “it’s never too late” to embrace who you are and dress accordingly.
Style therapy: fashion and wellbeing
During the discussion, we also explored how fashion affects our wellbeing. Sylwia Antoszkiewicz explained that thoughtful clothing choices are not just about building style but also about self-care:
“In fashion, everything starts with awareness. Even something as seemingly trivial as our daily clothing choices has a significant impact on how we feel. It’s worth asking ourselves: are we dressing on autopilot, or are we using fashion consciously to build confidence, express our identity, and send a clear message about who we are? Fashion has the power – not just to express who we are but to shape our reality.”
Technology for conscious choices
Another key theme of the event was the role of innovation in fostering sustainable fashion habits. We showcased solutions by LG that care for clothing while caring for the planet – saving energy, water, and detergents.
Attendees experienced the LG steam closet in action, a staple of Wise Habit “take care” showroom category. This intelligent garment care system uses steam to refresh and sanitize clothing, extending its lifespan.
The panel also highlighted LG’s new AI Core-Tech washers and dryers, which redefine artificial intelligence as “affectionate intelligence.” These devices analyze fabric type and weight to optimize washing cycles and drying times, ensuring gentle yet efficient care.
Fashion and design: united for change
Hosting a fashion discussion in a design showroom added a unique layer to the event, bringing together representatives from both industries. We created a space for meaningful dialogue between the fashion and design communities. Long conversations among designers, stylists, architects, and journalists after the panel confirmed the value of such interdisciplinary exchanges.
As Marcelina Plichta-Wabnik summarized:
“The dynamism of the fashion world often inspires product designers. It’s fascinating to observe the intersection of design and fashion, especially in the context of inclusivity and user-centered approaches. The key takeaway from the event can be summed up in two words that unite both worlds: timelessness and quality—both in aesthetics and craftsmanship.”
Thank you to all our Guests for joining us and co-creating an inspiring community around conscious design and living. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
